1. What is your role at AudienceView?
I am the Product Marketing Manager for AudienceView, OvationTix and Vendini. It’s my job to be the expert on our top competitors, new companies entering the market and ticketing trends. I’m also responsible for keeping our sales team equipped with collateral and ongoing product knowledge, including key benefits to organizations across the entertainment and live events industry.
2. What current ticketing industry trend excites you most?
From both a marketing and security perspective, I’m very interested in the technology that is evolving around knowing exactly who is at your show. The dance between what attendees will accept and what event producers want really intrigues me. Being an avid concertgoer myself, I often wonder if facial recognition or cellphone tracking technology at the gate would deter me from attending.
3. If you could pick up a new skill in an instant what would it be and why?
I would love to know how to play the piano. I live in Petaluma, California, which is north of San Francisco, and we have community pianos scattered around town that residents play regularly. The music often draws in groups of at least 10-15 passersby. Between the flexibility of what a piano can do and how it can sound, be it playing a grand piano or a synthesizer, I am always very impressed and would love to have the skills to play.
4. What’s something you want to do in the next year that you’ve never done before?
I take an annual trip to Lake Tahoe for the fourth of July to hang out on the lake, barbecue and relax with friends. As the years pass, I am seeing more and more paddleboarders out on the water and it looks really fun. There are lots of private coves that I could explore on a paddleboard, so my goal for next year is to rent one and test my luck. I’m just hoping I can keep my balance!
5. What makes you smile?
Since the birth of my daughter in January 2019, lots of unexpected things have brought a smile to my face. But I think the ultimate joy is sharing disc golf, which is my favorite hobby, with those that I love. Once every other week or so my daughter, wife and I will head out to a new disc golf course. I get to play and my wife enjoys the hike with our daughter strapped to her chest. Nothing beats seeing my daughter smile or giggle when she hears the sound of my putt going into the disc golf basket.
